This site collects almost nothing.
michaelmcroskey.com is a personal portfolio. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments, and no newsletter. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is nothing to store about you.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which work gets looked at. It records the page you visited, roughly where you are (country and region, from an IP address Google discards rather than stores), your browser and device type, and how you arrived. Google sets first-party cookies to tell a returning visit from a new one. I do not send it your name, email, or anything you type, and I do not use it for advertising. Google describes its handling of that data in its partner sites policy, and you can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or any content blocker.
What is not here
There are no advertising scripts, no social media pixels, and no other third-party trackers. Fonts, images, and video are served from this domain.
What the host records
Pages are served by Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like every web host, it keeps standard server logs (IP address, request path, user agent, and time) for a limited period to run and secure the service. I do not use those logs to identify visitors. Google's handling of that data is described in the Firebase privacy documentation.
Links that leave the site
Some work items link to YouTube, LinkedIn, GitHub, or X. Once you follow one of those links, that service's own privacy policy applies. The GitHub contribution count in the footer is fetched once at build time on the server, not from your browser.
