# Michael McRoskey

Founding CTO at Perfect Store Group. Previously Google and FlutterFlow. Boston, MA.

## Philosophy

I’m a big believer in momentum. Most decisions are easy to reverse, so I’d much rather make many small ones quickly and course-correct as we go than lose two weeks debating a single choice in a room. But speed isn’t an excuse to cut corners on craft: building software that’s beautiful and delightful to use is always worth the extra day of polish. I work best in high-trust, transparent environments where context is shared openly, no single person acts as a bottleneck, and everyone leaves discussions aligned on who owns what.

## Experience

### Perfect Store Group · 2026 to present · Boston, MA

**Founding CTO**, Feb 2026 to now. Building an AI-powered CPG brokerage from the ground up. Responsible for all engineering: the agent runtime, the analysis pipeline, and the reporting that goes to retailers.

Perfect Store Group is an AI-powered brokerage for consumer packaged goods. I am responsible for all of the engineering: the agent runtime, the analysis pipeline, and the decks that brands take into retailer meetings.

- 6,408 commits in the first seven months
- 7 months from first commit to production
- 53 markdown skills
- 40 D3 chart renderers

**Founding CTO** (Feb 2026 — now). Responsible for all product and engineering work, from the data model to the brand. The job is turning a category-management practice into software that both a broker and an agent can operate.

#### Architecture · 2026

The practice is written as a set of skills a model can read, so the product changes as quickly as the documents do.

- **Agents in sandboxes** (MODAL SANDBOXES): Every analysis runs in an isolated sandbox with the client data mounted, so an agent can execute real code against real numbers.
- **Product logic in markdown** (53 SKILLS): Category reviews, pricing ladders, and distribution gaps are written as skills rather than hard-coded features. Changing one is a pull request rather than a release.
- **Charts that ship as decks** (40 RENDERERS): D3 renderers for every chart a retailer buyer expects, exported straight into PowerPoint with the brand kit applied.

#### Identity · 2026

The mark reads as a barcode from a distance and as signal bars up close.

- **One orange, four bars** (BRAND KIT): A single accent, a monospace label system, and a chart palette that survives a projector.
- **iOS app** (FLUTTER): A companion app for field reps, built in Flutter, so a shelf photo becomes structured data before the rep leaves the store.

### FlutterFlow · 2023 to 2026 · Munich → New York

**Founder and President** (2010 — 2018). Ran every part of the organization: the website, bulk purchasing and inventory, packing events with 1,000+ students, 501(c)3 compliance and finances, and partnerships with schools, churches, and businesses. Presented the model to an ABC Shark Tank investor.

#### The model · 2010 to 2018

Each red drawstring bag held an energy bar, water, trail mix, a beef stick, raisins, gum, a hand wipe, and a blank card for a personal note. Anyone could assemble one, so schools and churches hosted packing events and handed them out directly.

- **A simple unit** ($5): Easy to understand, easy to fund, easy to distribute. The price, the color, and the drawstring were all deliberate choices.
- **Nationwide sales** (AMAZON STOREFRONT): An online storefront, service-learning partnerships with schools, and bulk supply donations from corporate sponsors.
- **Iterating** (4 VERSIONS): The website was rebuilt four times over eight years as I learned. Media coverage came from the work rather than from marketing.
